Bulgaria is among the top tourist destinations for Romanian holiday-makers, although the economic crisis is having a negative influence on their vacation plans for this year. A survey conducted at the beginning of June has revealed that due to the crisis many Romanians will favour tourist attractions in their own country.

According to news agency, AgarPress, 49% of those polled in the survey have designated Romania as their favourite destination, while 42% said they will vacation abroad. The number of those who will stay in Romania for their vacation, is up by 2%, compared with 2010, while the number of those planning to travel abroad is down by 6%.
For foreign destinations, Greece is ranked first with 22% of Romanians wishing to vacation there, followed by Spain (15%), Italy (14%), Bulgaria (9%), and France and Turkey (7% each).
Compared with last year, these figures show a decrease in interest in travel plans for France, Italy, Spain and Germany, while the comparative figures for Greece and Bulgaria are higher.
