Thanks to recent research from insurance company, Aviva, we can reveal that more British people than ever are determined to move overseas sooner rather than later and that there are genuine reasons - and a strong likelihood - that these people want to break at least some of their ties with the UK.
According to Aviva’s latest studies, 54% of the people aged 18 to 45 year that they surveyed are currently considering leaving the UK to live abroad. Of these, 46% stated that they were definitely planning to leave and were considering making their move permanent. This is an increase on last year’s figures when only 39% of those surveyed were thinking of moving overseas permanently.
A massive 89% of those surveyed by Aviva commented on the fact that the jobs market in the UK has deteriorated in the last three years, and that this is a direct concern. More than half also stated directly that the downturn in the economy has had a negative impact on their lifestyles.
In terms of the other factors driving Brits abroad, Aviva's findings included: the poor and unpredictable climate, the need to find a healthier and less stressful lifestyle and environment, and being settled in a country where an improved work / life balance can be achieved.
According to Aviva the nations that are most highly favoured by Brits considering emigration are: Australia - for a better work/life balance, America - for the lifestyle and Canada - for employment prospects. Spain is also highlighted because of the weather which, together with the highly attractive cost of properties - currently the lowest in Europe - is yet another reason why Brits continue to choose Bulgaria.
At MovetoBG.com we have seen a substantial increase in the number of enquiries that we receive from people planning to purchase property and / or emigrate to Bulgaria. This ties in with Aviva’s research, with our own experience of what our clients are looking for and with current trends and developments within the property market.
