The Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Albena welcomed its first tourists today, as a group of 80 Germans marked the early start of the summer season on Tuesday 19th April.
The group will enjoy balnotherapy, massages, spa treatments and other medical procedures for a period of three weeks, representatives of the resort have explained
During the Easter celebrations, the tourists will have the opportunity to visit churches in the nearby cities of Varna, Balchik and Dobrich and experience the traditional Bulgarian way of celebrating the holiday.
Through the 2011 season, Albena expects to host some 26000 German tourists, which represents a 30% year-on-year increase. Following the downturn in the tourist market during the last couple of years, Germany is once again showing a strong interest in Albena, with bookings already up by around 15% compared with the same period in 2010.
