Plovdiv airport's executive director, Doychin Anguelov, announced today that Irish low-cost air carrier Ryanair is to hold talks with Plovdiv airport management in April with the aim of starting a new flight schedule.
Ryanair representatives will be visiting Bulgaria from 6th to 15th April. They are scheduled to meet with with Transport Minister, Alexander Tsvetkov and to visit Plovdiv airport to hopefully finalise an agreement.
Ryanair has been planning to launch flights to Plovdiv airport for several years and this latest announcement is linked to Plovdiv airport's strategy for increasing its passenger numbers and revenues.
Plovdiv is expected to become an even more attractive flight option for air companies from ist April, when its fees will be sharply reduced and will stand at around thirty percent of the the fees at the airport in Sofia.
